What are the Fashion Collection's Core Values? with Founder - Matthew L Myers

Each item of clothing is designed by hand, requiring several days of labor to ensure that the workmanship is a durable original one-of-a-kind product.

Every year millions of tons of fabric, including fast fashion, are thrown away in trash sites and/or incinerated due to poor construction and cutting corners in design durability. The Matthew L. Myers Collection wants to reverse this trend.

Mission Statement

What is the Matthew L. Myers Fashion Collection and where did the concept come from?

While running errands at the local refuse center there was a realization that this was resource (with a Swap Shop) with materials from all over the world, both modern and antique: fabric, threads, yarn, accessories (buttons, pins, and patches) and clothing (sweatshirts, jeans and hats) from around the globe. There were treasures from Europe, Asia and North and South America.

This presented a unique opportunity.

Why is it Important for Sustainability, Recycling and Extreme Weather Events?

By shifting clothing away from disposal the line prevents fabrics and materials from winding up in our green spaces, waterbodies and oceans, while making a stylish statement.

In the U.S. alone an estimated 20 million tons are disposed of annually.

What makes the Matthew L. Myers Fashion Collection Stand Alone?

Each piece is created over a several week period. No two items are exactly alike. All embroidery floss, skeins and thread are vintage colors manufactured in France, the UK and the United States of America.

Every item is handcrafted in the United States of America.

Great attention is placed on stitching.
